A high-grade marijuana distribution ring that reached into six central Florida counties was busted by local, state and federal officials on Thursday. According to a story on BayNew9.com investigators estimate the marijuana distribution ring was moving $500,00 to $750,000 worth of pot per week. There are 41 suspects under arrest on drug charges most facing felony drug trafficking and conspiracy charges.
According to the story the weed was being sold for $4,300 to $4,500 per pound. David Cole of Chuluota was named as the ring’s leader. Cole was dealing pot to the tune of $90,000 a week. The marijuana is believed to have come from California where legal medical marijuana is being grown. Suspects were arrested in Pinellas, Polk, Orange, Seminole, Lake and Volusia.
